Self-advocacy and peer supports grant round

In June 2024, the Australian Government announced a grant round to fund community-based self-advocacy and peer supports.

Organisations will be able to apply when the proposed grant program is released via GrantConnect .

This is a one-off grant round delivered by the NDIA, providing up to $20 million per year in funding over two years. Community-based, disability-led organisations who run existing peer support and self-advocacy programs are eligible to apply.

The NDIA recognises the crucial role these organisations play in the disability ecosystem, helping people with disability to connect with others who have shared similar experiences and build their self-advocacy skills.

Governments are working with the disability community to design and deliver the foundational supports and navigation functions recommended by the NDIS Review. This grant round ensures self-advocacy and peer support services remain available to people with disability and their supporters while these functions are developed.

This one-off grant round sits alongside the Department of Social Services’ Information, Linkages and Capacity-Building grants program .
