We are deeply saddened by the passing of disability advocate, Sue Salthouse.
Sue was a highly-respected, passionate advocate for people with disability. She was committed to educating the community about the impact disability has on people’s lives and contributed to the design, delivery and improvement of the NDIS in so many ways.
Sue brought important understanding and insight into her role as a member of the NDIS Independent Advisory Council over a number of years and played an integral role in establishing the NDIS ACT trial site. She partnered with us to deliver disability awareness training to the first national office team in Canberra and contributed to the NDIA’s values framework. Most recently, Sue assisted us with a major recruitment and appointment process for the Agency’s executive staff as an independent expert panel member.
Sue was a friend of the Agency who will be missed by those who had the privilege to work with her.
