Two men accused of defrauding National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants have been banned from delivering NDIS services and are now facing even more serious court penalties, NDIS Minister, the Hon. Bill Shorten MP, said today.
On this day ten years ago, 1 July, four trial sites across Australia opened their doors and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) started to deliver its work. There are now almost 600,000 NDIS participants who have reported increased freedom and control over their lives to go out in their community, to work, make friends and spend their time as they choose.
Disability workers who deliver close personal support to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants, contract COVID-19 and do not have leave entitlements will be eligible for financial assistance through their employer through a new Australian Government initiative.
