IRG Meeting: Tuesday 21 April, 2020 NDIA COVID-19 Update The NDIA gave an update on the measures taken in response to COVID-19. These included the temporary 10 per cent COVID price limit increases for some supports, advance payment, extension of NDIS plans, outreach to vulnerable participants, and expansion of the exceptionally complex support needs pathway. This is in addition to establishing a dedicated COVID-19 telephone line via the National Contact Centre, and creating a COVID-19 specialised action team to respond to urgent/light-touch plan reviews with 48 hours. The COAG Disability Reform Council met by telepresence on 9 April 2020. The focus of the meeting was on the national response to the coronavirus pandemic, in particular the effects of the response on people with disability.
Over Easter there are changes to payment runs for NDIS participants and providers.
As part of the NDIA’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, NDIS participants and providers can now connect with matching platforms through the NDIS website – to quickly and easily find the support workers they need.
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting NDIS participants during this time, the NDIA has worked with supermarket retailers to make sure NDIS participants wanting support to grocery shop, have priority access to home delivery services.
