The Australian Government is providing $5.9 million over the next two years to the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) to strengthen NDIS services within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Minister for the NDIS, Stuart Robert, says the release of new data on Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) will further stimulate the market and ensure better long-term options for Australians needing specialised housing solutions.

The Minister for the NDIS, the Hon Stuart Robert MP announced today the release of the latest Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) data on the NDIS Data and Insights website.

NDIS Participants will have the opportunity to experience free independent assessments and provide feedback as part of a voluntary NDIA pilot resuming in late October. The pilot, postponed in March due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, will enable the Agency to make sure Independent Assessments meet the needs of a diverse range of NDIS participants, when they start in 2021.

The NDIA continues to take measures to protect NDIS participants from fraudulent activity. The Agency, with the assistance of the Australian Federal Police, today executed a search warrant at a Kellyville Ridge premises following complaints over the misuse of participant funding. A 37 year old woman is assisting with enquiries. The raid was part of an ongoing investigation by the NDIA’s Scheme Integrity Branch. The NDIS Price Guide 2020-21 has been updated and changes will be effective from Sunday 25 October 2020.
