More time for WA transition to the NDIS Commission, tender closure date 18 September 2020

Providers in WA now have more time to transition to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission). This is following WA Government’s announcement , delaying WA’s transition from 1 July 2020 to 1 December 2020 due to COVID-19 events.

The WA Department of Communities Disability Services Provider Panel re-opened registration on 1 July 2020 and will continue to accept new applications until tender closure date, 18 September 2020, 5pm AWST.

Application details are on the Tenders WA website.

Under the NDIS Act (2013), the NDIA is able to accept registration requests until the NDIS Commission comes into effect on 1 December 2020.

Applications which require evidence of WA Department of Communities compliance must apply by tender closure date.

Providers who miss the 18 September 2020 tender closure date will need to wait until 1 December 2020 to apply for registration via the NDIS Commission.  This could mean being unable to deliver important supports and services to participants until registration is finalised.

Details on how to register as a provider in WA are on the Registering as a provider in WA page.

WA is the last state to transition to the NDIS Commission and by 1 December 2020, providers in all states and territories will fall under the jurisdiction of the NDIS Commission.
