Support coordinators play an important part in helping participants to become more independent.

Specialist support coordination is a higher level of support. The focus is on reducing complexity in the participant’s support environment and helping the participant to overcome immediate and/or significant barriers in plan implementation.

Support coordinators should help participants engage with community and other government services.

A conflict of interest may occur when someone has real or perceived competing private and professional interests. These interests may make it difficult to fulfil their professional duties without bias or the perception of bias.

Participants from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds may require assistance to access translation and interpreting services in order to implement the supports available in their NDIS Plan.
