The NDIA established the Children’s Expert Advisory Group (the Group, or the Advisory Group) in 2024 and the Advisory Group concluded its work in July 2026.
The Group provided expert advice to the NDIA on:
- Strategies to address the needs of children with disability and developmental delay, their families, and carers in the NDIS
- Co-design and engagement with the community on changes to the NDIS for children, their families and carers
- The development of clear and consistent communications to families and carers of children with developmental delay and disability.
The Children’s Expert Advisory Group focused on the experiences of children aged 0–14 years, however their advice may also assisted the NDIA in improving the experience of older children in the NDIS.
