Ahead of International Day for People with Disability, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has announced changes to ensure it remains an inclusive and safe workplace for people with disability.

The Australian Government’s commitment to stopping fraud is helping to protect the funding that supports Australians living with disability and saving the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) millions of dollars, NDIS Minister Bill Shorten MP said today.

One person has been charged and another questioned following a Fraud Fusion Taskforce (FFT or Taskforce) investigation into alleged fraud against the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS or Scheme).

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) continues to have a positive impact on the lives of participants, their families and carers with recent data highlighting greater community inclusion and participation.

NDIS participants are seeing faster decision-making through the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), thanks to targeted alternate dispute resolution initiatives. For AAT matters received in the past 12 months, the median weeks to close for matters resolved has almost halved from 31 to 18 weeks, latest data shows.
