A former NDIS provider has been sentenced after a Fraud Fusion Taskforce investigation revealed proof that the provider had solicited participant data from an NDIA staff member.

The NDIA has completed a review of policies and practices concerning NDIS debt and will repay some money to participants and providers. A debt can come about when a NDIS payment is made to a person or organisation not entitled to the payment.

NDIS providers of therapy supports, supported independent living, and support coordination will share in more than $45 million in funding as part of a program designed to support quality providers of disability services.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is now supporting more than 739,000 Australians and their families.

The NDIS recognises the passing of Gavin Burner, a valued member of the Independent Advisory Council (IAC). He was also the Co-Chair of the Intellectual Disability Reference Group.
