The National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Integrity and Safeguarding) Act 2026 was passed and achieved Royal Assent on 8 April 2026.
This law:
- expands the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission’s powers to detect, prevent and respond to breaches of obligations under the Act
- provides participants wishing to leave the NDIS with additional safeguards and communication options
- enables the NDIA to move to an entirely electronic claiming system for providers
- makes sure plan variations can include an increase or decrease of the total funding amounts.
