The NDIA has a diverse workforce that represents the community we serve. We recognise it’s vital to have an inclusive, safe and supportive workplace.

The Agency aims to deliver this through the projects listed below.

NDIA LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Plan 2021-2023

The NDIA is committed to the inclusion of everyone who works at or engages with our Agency.

Read the NDIA LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Plan 2021-23.

The plan:

  • recognises the strength of our diverse workforce
  • outlines actions for building an inclusive workplace for LGBTIQA+ staff
  • grows a more inclusive workplace culture.

NDIA LGBTIQA+ Rainbow Commitment

We value the lived experience of our staff, which helps the Agency be its best.

Our NDIA LGBTIQA+ Rainbow Commitment Statement states how the Agency advances inclusive practices and behaviours.

It was created by working with our LGBTIQA+ staff.

Pride@NDIA Employee Network

Pride@NDIA (Pride at NDIA) is our LGBTIQA+ Staff and Allies Network.

It supports an open and inclusive workplace culture where diversity is respected and celebrated.

Pride@NDIA draws on the unique backgrounds and life experiences of LGBTIQA+ staff and allies.

At the NDIA, our staff are free to be themselves in a safe and respectful environment. They are supported to achieve their best.

The Welcome Here Project

The NDIA is proud to be a member of the Welcome Here Project . The project is coordinated by ACON, formerly known as the AIDS Council of NSW.

We want the NDIA to be a place where everyone is welcomed and feels comfortable being who they are.

This includes all:

  • staff
  • participants
  • their carers and families.

Being a member of the project helps us to deliver on actions in our LGBTIQA+ Inclusion Plan.

This includes ensuring our workplaces are LGBTIQA+ friendly.

As a proud member of ACON's Welcome Here Project, we support the 3 project commitments:

  1. We welcome and include LGBTIQA+ people
  2. We create positive change in our local community
  3. We celebrate LGBTIQA+ diversity.
