New interactive tool to help NDIS participants find accommodation

  • News

The SDA Finder is a new interactive tool that helps participants search for Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) vacancies that meet their needs.

SDA is a range of housing solutions for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.

SDA homes are constructed to be more accessible. They enable better or safer delivery of supports.

We know that there is often a lack of consistent and accurate information available to participants seeking appropriate accommodation.

The SDA Finder has been designed to fill this information gap for participants with SDA funding - approximately 6% of all NDIS participants.

Accessible digital resources like the SDA Finder and Provider Finder are examples of our Participant Service Improvement Plan working to deliver a Scheme that meets participant expectations.

Participants, families and carers can search for SDA dwelling vacancies by location, building type, price and more.

Vacancies are updated weekly, ensuring participants have access to current information.

This new interactive tool offers a level of reassurance not found on open market listing sites.

All provider listings on the SDA Finder are validated against the NDIA’s dwelling enrolment database and only registered providers are able to advertise.

Enrolled dwellings must meet the NDIA’s requirements for SDA.

Providers will also welcome the launch of the SDA Finder as it will help them to:

  • advertise SDA vacancies
  • comply with SDA Rules
  • access SDA demand data

The SDA Finder has been developed with extensive consultation and testing with participants and providers.
