NDIA Board receives NDIS Independent Pricing Review Report

The Board of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) wishes to advise stakeholders today it received the Final Report of the Independent Pricing Review undertaken by McKinsey & Company.

The Review was commissioned by the Board of the NDIA in June 2017, with a view to its being completed by December 2017. McKinsey & Company has delivered on its commitment to meet that timetable.

The Report is 100 pages in length and contains 25 formal recommendations.

The Board will initially consider the Report at its scheduled meeting at the end of January 2018, with the intent being that the Report and the NDIA’s response be published by mid-March at the latest.

McKinsey & Company has consulted extensively with the sector in developing its recommendations.

The Board of the NDIA acknowledges and thanks all providers, peak and participant bodies, participants, and members of the Independent Advisory Council who have willingly given of their time and insight in assisting McKinsey develop its recommendations. The Board also acknowledges the comprehensive independent study undertaken by McKinsey and thanks them sincerely for their hard work in undertaking the Review.

The Chairman of the NDIA, Dr Helen Nugent AO stated: “The NDIA recognises the critical importance of having a vibrant provider market that delivers participants with quality, timely supports. Recognition of this need caused the NDIA Board to commission the Review in June. And that will be the Board and management’s guiding consideration in responding to the McKinsey recommendations. This is an important piece of work which, along with the Participant and Provider Pathway Reviews, are top priorities for the Board and management in the New Year”.
