The focus of the November meeting was providing feedback on new guidance about spending in line with your plan.
Spending in line with your plan
The NDIA presented a draft version of a new resource named Spending in line with your plan.
The purpose of the resource is to make sure participants have the right tools, information and guidance to confidently spend their NDIS funding in line with their plan.
The NDIA sought member feedback on what works, what’s missing, and what needs to be created, with a view to co-develop resources to help self-managing participants.
Topics discussed included: what's getting in the way for self-managers, what guidance and tools would help, what the NDIA are working on, how we can work together and next steps.
Member feedback strongly reflected concerns about clarity, empowerment, and consistency.
Major themes included:
- Missing core purpose
- Resource gaps
- Accessibility and engagement
- Flexibility and rights
- Opportunities for improvement.
