Supporting Indigenous Australians

The First People’s Disability Network will be working with urban, regional and remote communities to raise awareness of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and assist Indigenous people with disability, and their families and carers, to understand and use individual packages effectively.

For more information please visit the First People’s Disability Network website.

DisabilityCare Australia is working with the NPY Women’s Council and Kakarrara Wilurrara Health Alliance to trial new service delivery models for remote Indigenous communities on the APY Lands, and around Ceduna and Yalata in South Australia.

Supporting people with severe and persistent mental illness

The Mental Health Council of Australia will engage with people with severe and persistent mental illness and their families and carers to understand the choices available to them through the NDIS, and to build their capacity to participate in goal-based planning and to direct their own support packages.

For more information please contact the Mental Health Council of Australia by email at dca@mhca.org.au or phone 02 6285 3100, or visit the Mental Health Council of Australia’s website.
