Pathway improvement update
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is committed to improving the experience people and organisations have with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The pathway refers to the experience that participants and providers have from their first interaction to their ongoing engagement with the NDIS.
A key part of the work to improve the NDIS pathway has been listening to participants and providers about what works and what doesn't, as well as capturing ideas on how to make their experience easier.
We are now progressively piloting a range of new ideas and processes to ensure changes are tested in practice before they are rolled out nationally. The initial pilot is expected to be completed by the end of April 2018.
The NDIA is also testing improvements without the need to pilot, resulting in more immediate national implementation.
We will provide regular updates to ensure you are aware of any improvements and information about the pathway work and how it relates to you.
New and improved NDIS Provider Toolkit
The NDIA has released a new NDIS Provider Toolkit – a resource for providers (including individuals and organisations) who want to learn more about working with the NDIS.
The NDIS needs a diverse array of providers to deliver choice and control for participants and ultimately increase social and economic participation for people with disability.
The new Toolkit is a user-friendly online tool that takes providers through the seven steps of the Provider Pathway and includes step-by-step guides, videos, FAQ's and interactive eLearning activities.
The new Toolkit has been designed with the help and input of over 100 providers from a diverse range of backgrounds.
As a part of the release of this new Toolkit the NDIA invites providers to give feedback by using the feedback page.
Since release, the new Provider Toolkit has received over 100,000 page views, with many providers already providing valuable feedback.
This feedback will drive future development of this resource and ensure that providers who want to learn more about working with the NDIS have the right information and tools to assist them in a timely and practical way.
To learn more about the new Toolkit we've put together a simple Provider Toolkit explainer.
