Key points
  • We’ve built a new participant portal and updated the app to work with our new computer system.
  • When you have a plan in our new computer system, you can start using the my NDIS portal and app.

To help deliver our new computer system, we’ve built a new portal called the my NDIS participant portal. We have also updated the my NDIS app.

The my NDIS participant portal is for participants with NDIS plans developed in our new computer system.

If you do not have a plan in our new computer system, you should continue to use the current myplace participant portal.

my NDIS participant portal

The my NDIS participant portal is a more accessible and user-friendly way to:

  • view your budget
  • see your plan information and personal details
  • make and manage claims (for self-managing participants)
  • see all claims against your budget
  • check, accept or dispute claims made by providers not recorded as a my provider (for NDIA-managed participants)
  • see messages and correspondence from the NDIA.

Participants with a plan built in our new computer system can access the my NDIS participant portal through myGov.

If you already have a myGov account for other government services such as Medicare, the Australian Taxation Office or Centrelink, you can use the same myGov account to access the my NDIS participant portal.

You will need to link the my NDIS participant portal to your myGov account:

When you link the my NDIS participant portal to your myGov account for the first time, you will need to enter an NDIS activation code.

To get your activation code, please contact us by:

Once you have linked the my NDIS participant portal to your myGov account, you can sign in to the my NDIS participant portal through the myGov platform.

If you do not have a myGov account, you will need to create one. You will then need to link your my NDIS participant portal to your myGov account.

Existing my NDIS participant portal users

You will only be able to sign into the my NDIS participant portal through myGov.

This means you will no longer be able to sign in to the my NDIS participant portal using your email or NDIS number.

If you already have a myGov account that is linked to the NDIS you can access the my NDIS participant portal through your myGov account. This is the same way you access the myplace participant portal.

You can continue to access the myplace participant portal through your myGov account to see plans developed in our previous computer system and related information.

Nominees and child representatives of participants

If you are a nominee or child representative, you will need to use your own myGov account to access the my NDIS participant portal.

To use, check, accept, dispute and make claims in the my NDIS participant portal, nominees and child representatives must sign in using their own myGov account, not the participant's myGov account.

It’s important for nominees and child representatives to use their myGov account because it gives us accurate information about who is using the portal and making claims.

For nominees and child representatives who support more than one participant, using the myGov platform means you can easily view and make claims for each participant you represent.

If you need help with the my NDIS participant portal, please read our frequently asked questions, ask my NDIS contact to help you or call the National Contact Centre on 1800 800 110.

my NDIS app

The my NDIS app has been updated to work with our new computer system. It features a new design and more accessibility features.

Whether you are a new participant or an existing participant, you can use the my NDIS app.

New app users

If you are using the my NDIS app for the first time you will need to download the app.

The my NDIS app can be updated or downloaded for free from:

When you sign in to the my NDIS app for the first time, we will send you a code via SMS to confirm your information. This will be sent to the mobile phone number we have recorded for you.

Once you have entered the code, you will be asked to set up a PIN which you will use to sign into the app.

After signing into the app for the first time, you can set your app preferences including setting up face ID and fingerprint recognition and change your accessibility features to suit your needs.

Existing app users

If you already use the my NDIS app and your NDIS plan is approved in our new computer system, you don't need to do anything new.

The app will recognise your NDIS number when you sign in. You do not need to download a new version of the app or re-register for the app.

The app will ask you to accept our updated Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice.

It’s a good idea to make sure you always have the latest version of the my NDIS app on your mobile phone.

You can check for updates in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
