Quality supports program

The Quality Supports program is part of the NDIA’s plans to ensure every NDIS participant has access to the highest quality supports.

The program will establish two pilots initially – the Supported Independent Living (SIL) pilot and the Support Coordination (SC) pilot. The focus of these two pilots is working with selected providers to identify features of quality service provision and cost models associated with providing quality services.

The findings of these pilots will be used to inform future market approaches and pricing, as part of the Agency’s commitment to a revised pricing approach.

The NDIA will select a limited number of disability providers based on rigorous assessment criteria to participate in a restricted grant process. The grant funding will be for the costs of providers working closely with the NDIA to develop data about the costs of quality service provision.

A further pilot will be released later this year which will focus on smaller SIL providers, such as those who deliver more bespoke services, those who support regional and remote communities, and those who specialise in service provision for First Nations and CALD participants.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) pilot grant opportunity

The NDIA has invited a select group of Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers to apply for a grant as part of the Quality Supports Program. Only providers who met the eligibility criteria set out in the Quality Supports SIL Pilot Grant Opportunity Guidelines have been invited to apply for the SIL pilot grant.

Grants will be awarded for participation in a 12-month pilot that will focus on working with selected providers to identify features of quality service provision and cost models associated with providing quality services.

Up to $20 million in grant funding will be distributed across the successful grantees over the 2025-26 financial year. The grant funding will offset the costs of providers working closely with the NDIA to provide information and data on the cost models associated with providing quality services.

The findings of the SIL Pilot will be used to inform future market approaches and pricing, as part of the Agency’s commitment to a revised pricing approach.
