Grants awarded
In June 2024, the Australian Government announced a grant round to fund community-based peer supports and capacity-building supports.
The NDIA awarded these grants in late November to early December 2024. The NDIA will award almost $40 million (GST inclusive) over 2 years to the 69 successful applicants.
We received a high volume of quality applications for this grant round.
We appreciate the time applicants took to provide high quality responses, and thank all applicants for their patience as we carefully assessed all applications.
These recipients will receive a range of funding, depending on the scale and nature of their program.
The programs being delivered through this funding are a combination of local, state based, national and online programs.
The NDIA recognises the valuable role these organisations play in the disability ecosystem, helping people with disability build their skills and connect with others who have shared similar experiences.
These grants are being delivered to small community-based, disability-led organisations.
This is a one-off grant round delivered by the NDIA, providing up to $20 million per year in funding over 2 years, with the possibility of a one-year extension.
We are delivering these grants so that people with disability can keep accessing supports while governments and the disability sector work together to design foundational supports.
This one-off grant round sits alongside the Department of Social Services’ Information, Linkages and Capacity-Building grants program .
