Market engagement summary report

The report gives an overview of the market engagement activities that took place in October to December 2021.

It outlines the feedback we received about improvements we would like to make to the PITC program.

It also includes additional feedback we received.

About the partners in the community program

The partners in the community (PITC) program helps us deliver services in local communities.

We partner with experienced and qualified organisations with strong local knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with disability or developmental delay.

Partners deliver early childhood (EC) and local area coordination (LAC) services linking people with disability to the NDIS, and to community and mainstream services.

PITC partners support over 70% of NDIS participants.

Funding awarded to partners to deliver the program in FY 2019/20 was approximately $525 million.

Market engagement information paper

Our market engagement information paper provided an overview of the future partner program and asked for feedback from organisations who may be interested in partnering with the NDIA through the PITC program, and the broader sector.

We wanted to understand what interested organisations thought about:

  • extension of PITC Partner support into some remote communities
  • ways to improve the delivery of services for specialist cohorts
  • proposed funding model to support flexible response to participant needs
  • other general feedback relating to this information paper.

The feedback we received can be viewed in the market engagement summary report.

Online engagement sessions

We held online sessions with interested organisations to get feedback on the proposed funding model, extending partner coverage to remote areas and increasing specialisation of services for the PITC program.

We may use the feedback received to develop the future PITC program and PITC program sourcing activity in 2022.

Feedback we received won’t affect applications to any future PITC program sourcing activity.
