This section contains information on the Operational Guidelines of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
The Operational Guidelines set out some of the NDIA’s operational information.
Operational information means information held by the NDIA to assist the NDIA perform or exercise its functions and powers in making decisions or recommendations affecting members of the public, or any particular person or entity, or class of persons or entities (see sections 8(2)(j) and 8A of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act)).
One of the NDIA’s main functions is to deliver the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Further information on the NDIA’s functions and powers can be accessed on the Functions of the NDIA (including decision-making powers) page.
The Operational Guidelines have been developed based on the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (external) and relevant Rules (external) made under the NDIS Act.
The Operational Guidelines will be periodically reviewed and updated to ensure they are accurate, up-to-date and complete (see section 8B of the FOI Act).
